Introduction

A research group in Utsunomiya University, as the center of Center for Optical Research and Education, promoted “Synthetic promotion project in Bioimaging technologies” supported by The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) from 2012 ~ 2017. One of important key words was “Live imaging”, which was performed by using X-ray, digital holography, spectroscopic imaging, thermal imaging, and other optical imaging technologies. Many important results were obtained through this project. One more important key word is “Collaboration” between researchers in Engineering, especially optical engineering, and researchers in biology and agriculture. Many new collaborations were born and interesting and innovative works were performed.

    This workshop is held for widely publishing the research achievements and offers good discussion time with excellent invited researchers, collaborators, colleagues, and students toward further developments of our collaboration researches in the filed of bioscience, agriculture, and optical imaging technologies.
